SPRING AND SUMMER PROGRAMS
'Kids Feeding Kids' Lunch & Literacy Program is new for the Youth Center. In the past, the Spokane Parks & Recreation Department sponsored 'The Kids of Summer' Program that supplied thousands of meals to local children in our surrounding parks. Today, two-thirds of the children in our community receive their daily nutrition through our local schools. During the summer months these children often go hungry. The Northeast Youth Center has calculated the figures and for a mere 45 cents a child can receive a USDA lunch Monday thru Friday for 10 weeks. That's 47 meals for 45 cents!!! Every donation received will enable us to feed a park site.
'Send-a-Kid-to-Camp' is a scholarship program that provides funding for children whose families cannot afford to send their child to camp for a week of great field trips, swimming, hiking, boating, arts, sports and many games for a week. The Northeast Youth Center offers a 10 week program Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM for $87 a week per child Camp fee includes all field trips, USDA breakfast & lunch, camp T-shirt, and many great memories!
'Field Trip Fund' The Northeast Youth Center prides itself on low cost, innovative, and just plain fun field trips for disadvantaged youth. We arrange trips to Silverwood Theme Park, Splash Down, Riverfront Park, Spokane Indians baseball games, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, hiking, rock climbing and many more awesome activities.
'Sports Scholarship Program' We provide low cost sports activities such as Baseball, Basketball, Wrestling, and Football. Even at a low cost many of our parents simply can't afford to send their child to our sports camps. Your donation would send a child to play league sports.
'Where the need is greatest' Please accept my check and apply the money where it is needed.
If you would like to volunteer for a special event or activity please send us your information and we will contact you.
